1. David Levi – Founder of Magnetovore

davidleviCollege: California Polytechnic State University

Year: Class of 2015

David Levi is fond of music, but his aspirations extend beyond the common musician.  David founded Magnetovore, a musical instrument company that concentrates on selling exclusive and cutting edge electrical products.  As pictured above, the company introduced an magnetic cello.  Yet, instead of making brand new types of instruments, David and his company concentrate on creating devices that are built on current instruments but transform the whole process of playing them.

The magnetic cello uses a magnetic field created by a magnetic bow to transform magnetic flux into music.  The instrument utilizes a copper coil to create this physical phenomena.  Impressive?  That’s not all. Magnetovore also debuted a new product known as NoteSlider: a saavy credit card-sized accessory that allows guitarists to quickly find the chord in question.  NoteSlider is something that is really easy to carry around and is a great tool for up-and-coming musicians.  With the musical field moving more towards electronic synths and other electric-based instruments, David Levi is clearly an undergraduate to watch as he transforms the musical world instrument by instrument.
