Now that the sun is back out, and the grass is turning green it is time to head outside and enjoy yourself with some relaxation and light after being cooped up all winter. This means good friends, good food and open toed shoes — everything is great except…THE SEMESTER IS ALMOST OVER!? There is only about 2-4 weeks in the semester left, everyone has finals coming up, papers are due and it is time to crack down and hit the books. But wait, what about that beautiful weather!? If you are like me, you are dying to get back outside and enjoy the sun, but also you have a ton of work to do, so here is a College Spring Time Survival Guide in order to help you get the most out of the little time you have left on your campus.
1. Do homework outside on the grass.
Spend as much of the day as possible outside by charging up your computer the night before, grabbing your books and hitting the quad. Bring along some good music, maybe a friend or two and make sure you are not more than a five-minute walk from a bathroom. This will maximize your outdoors time and make sure you get your work done in a fun and unstressed way.
2. Take a nap outside
I know right now everyone is tired, but take this opportunity to catch up on rest and still enjoy the beautiful day time atmosphere. Grab a blanket, a pillow and some glasses and you’re set! Find a nice tree and set up camp, set up your own little bed and rest yourself in the cool breeze and in the sun. Just don’t forget to set an alarm!
3. Have a picnic
Now of course you need to eat, so here is what I recommend: splurge a little and buy a sandwich, some pizza or even some Chinese food, and take it outside with your friends. Have everyone bring a blanket, get some speakers and catch up on the week. I know you are tired and you have work to do, but these people are your friends and you all need to eat. Make sure you keep up with your friends even during this stressful time. You are going to miss them this summer and they are the perfect people to be with when you need to relax.
4. Go out with your friends.
I know you may not feel like you have time for this but you deserve to have a little fun. Go out with your friends, spend a few hours watching a movie, talking, or hanging out at a party. Let yourself have a little fun.
5. Take a walk
Exercise is important; it builds endorphins and endorphins make you happy. Enjoy the weather and take a run or walk outside. It’s time to shed any of that winter fat, bring some fresh oxygen into your lungs, and get back into shape. Walking and running outside is the best way to take full advantage of these last few beautiful days.
